AI Fills the Blanks in Social Innovation
A Presentation by Song In-hyeok, CEO of Unique Good Company, at the AI for Good Forum | March 18, 2026
"AI is the Missing Tool of Social Innovation."
— Song In-hyeok, Co-CEO, Unique Good Company, 2026 AI for Good Forum
Event Overview: "Making AI an Asset for All"

On Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at 2 PM, the AI for Good Forum was held in the B1 Brick Hall of Heyground Seongsu Branch, Seongdong-gu, Seoul.

"AI as everyone's asset."

This forum was a gathering of social impact companies, NPO activists, impact investors, and government/local government officials to ask whether artificial intelligence can practically solve social problems. And one of the speakers who provided the most convincing answer to that question was CEO Song In-hyeok of Uniquegood Company.

Song In-hyuk, CEO of Unique Good Company: "AI, Filling the Blanks of Social Innovation"

On this day, CEO Song In-hyuk's presentation title was "AI, Filling the Blanks in Social Innovation (The Missing Tool for Real-World Problems)".
The expression "the blanks in social innovation" can be called a very accurate diagnosis.
The government pours trillions of won into responding to regional extinction, and local governments place orders one after another for idle space utilization projects.
However, facilities that are completed but that no one visits, empty spaces behind flashy exteriors are the reality of those blanks.
This is because they poured money into hardware but lacked the content and experience to attract people.

The "Missing Tool" that CEO Song In-hyuk speaks of is precisely that blank, the combination of technology, content, and experience.

Realworld: The Experience OS Preventing Regional Extinction
The core solution presented by CEO Song In-hyeok at this forum is Realworld, a Phygital AI-based LBE platform.
Uniquegood Company's approach is fundamentally different. The difference lies in viewing regional extinction not as a "population problem" but as a "space interaction problem."

While increasing the population takes generations, generating foot traffic in a space is something that can be started right now!
Realworld creates a "world where I am the protagonist" by overlaying digital narratives onto real-world spaces.
It implements immersive technologies such as AR, QR, NFC, GPS, chatbot AI, voice recognition, IoT, and motion detection with just a smartphone, without hardware installation.
This can be called the philosophy of "Hardware Free, Content Driven."

Unique Good Company is a certified company that solves local issues like the disappearance of old areas and the idle space problem.
Looking at the verified achievements, it established a World Guinness World Record for the world's largest treasure hunt campaign with the Real Treasure Festival at the old Gyeonggi Provincial Government Building, which had been abandoned for years. Real World Seongsu, located in an apartment-type factory and a corner of the Knowledge Industry Center, is visited by more than 100,000 people annually and supports 12 types of content in 4 languages.
Real World has 1 million cumulative members and 4.2 million cumulative players, and is present in over 100 regions in 15 countries.

Regional Balanced Development: Addressing Both the Urban-Rural Gap and Vacant Space Issues
Korea's regional extinction is statistically severe. Nearly half of the nation's 229 cities, counties, and districts are categorized as extinction-risk areas. Meanwhile, vacant spaces such as public buildings, old downtown shopping districts, and closed schools in rural areas are drifting between neglect and demolition. At this juncture, CEO Song In-hyuk of Unique Good Company emphasized a playable content approach that uses AI technology to resolve the foot traffic problem of offline vacant spaces in regions and addresses the population decline issue through interaction.

What is needed in an empty space is not concrete, but experiences. Creating reasons for people to want to come, reasons to want to stay, and reasons to want to return. That is what Realworld does.

The gap between urban and rural areas isn't simply a difference in infrastructure; it can be called a gap in experience. Young people in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, flock to new experiential content daily, while those in small regional towns leave. When the Realworld platform is integrated into vacant spaces in regional areas, this gap can be narrowed quickly. Without high-cost hardware, any region can become a theme park using AI-based story content that reflects local characteristics. The Realworld Studio (no-code authoring tool) is designed for local activists, teachers, and local governments to directly create experiential content using regional stories, and this can be said to be the path to true balanced regional development that Uniquegood Company speaks of.

Kim Jong-gyu, CEO of Sixty Hertz (60Hertz): "AI and Energy Transition"

On the same day, the topic presented by Kim Jong-gyu, CEO of 60Hertz, was "AI and Energy Transition."

60Hertz is an energy IT social venture that utilizes AI and big data to integrate and manage more than 200,000 distributed renewable energy power plants nationwide. Its 'Sun and Wind Map' predicts and visualizes the generation of over 80,000 renewable energy power plants nationwide in real-time using AI and provides it for free. For this technology, it received the Presidential Award in 2021.

The core argument presented by CEO Kim Jong-gyu at the forum was the true impact of IT investment.

According to an analysis of 1,216 companies from 1986 to 1997 by an MIT research team, the value of IT assets reached 11.9 times that of tangible assets.

The reason was the organizational capital brought about by IT, specifically decentralized organizational structures, improved individual autonomy, teamwork and incentives, and the increased ease of technological acquisition.

IT investment effect = tangible assets + organizational assets (@)

This formula applies equally to energy transition, addressing local population decline, and social innovation in general.
Yoon Seok-won, CEO of AIWORKX: The core voice of the panel discussion.

During the panel discussion session "AI for Good: How to Implement It?" at the forum, Seok-won Yoon, CEO of AIWORKX, made a pivotal voice.
AIWORKX is the only social venture in Korea specializing in AI data construction. It realizes Inclusive Employment by connecting the strengths of vulnerable groups, such as people with developmental disabilities, people with hearing impairments, and women with career breaks, to AI data construction work.
CEO Seok-won Yoon's philosophy of "We make AI that helps people" exactly touches the value of AI for Good, that technology does not replace people but grows together with them.

The AI for Good ecosystem created together by three social ventures

What the three CEOs—Song In-hyuk (Unique Good Company), Kim Jong-gyu (60Hertz), and Yoon Seok-won (AIWorks)—showed at this forum can be said to prove that AI for Good is not a slogan but a reality already in operation.

What the three companies have in common can be summarized in one point.
That is, they use technology as a tool for solving social problems.
That "AI for Good" is not just a declaration for them, but their daily business practice!
